Let's start with the formalities: Proactiv Solution was developed by dermatologists in early 1990 and released as an acne treatment in 1995. The treatment kit consists of three different solutions, a cleanser, toner, and lotion repair.

The toner is used to maintain this level of cleanliness and continue to prevent the buildup of sebum and bacteria for a period of time. Proactiv Solution generally played a positive result against acne for most people who have used including me. The toner is applied after the skin is cleansed and is allowed to dry. The goal of the toner is applied a layer of benzoyl peroxide to the skin to continue the actions of the cleanser for a long period of time. He works to keep pores clear and prevent excessive secretion of sebum (keeping the skin free of oil). In doing so, however, will often find that unless you apply the toner moderate dry skin you will too. If applied too liberally, you'll usually see white flakes / powder appear on the skin like benzoyl peroxide continues to be overworked. The repairing lotion, I discovered, is the most beneficial Proactiv System. You can usually see an improvement after a day or two to use lotion.
I have always promoted the use of all natural products, but the repairing lotion is still the most effective treatment commonly available in the healing skin after leaks and minimize acne scars. You can buy the lotion for compensation on their own through external sources but if you are going to do that you can also buy the system because the cleanser and toner products are still effective and you should use products like this, regardless of brand.
THE Active Ingredient:
The active ingredient in the Proactiv, as in many other acne treatment creams is benzoyl peroxide. peroxide benzoyl was developed by a scientist from Revlon in 1920 to treat acne and is used in concentrations of 2.5 - 10%. This chemical is absorbed through the skin and occurs a chemical reaction creating free radicals. It works by reducing the amount of sebum released and causing the surface of the skin to become overly dry, although tolerance is usually built after 1-2 weeks of use.
I would now like to mention that if your acne is caused by dry skin, you probably should avoid the product that you will most likely be adversely affected. This is because for some people a burning sensation, itch or sensation irritation occurs. If you try this product and your skin has an adverse reaction you should stop immediately and seek medical treatment / dermatology.
That said, the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in Proactiv is only 2.5%. Research has shown that this concentration is very better tolerated.
This substance, usually reduce the severity of your acne while it is in use, but since the benzoyl peroxide 'disappears' you will notice an influx of stains. This effect is very similar to antibiotic medication. If used frequently your body becomes accustomed to it and processes within the body are altered to match this entry.
